Welcome to the Oxford Entomology Society Website!
About Us
We are a community of people who are interested in insects (and perhaps other arthropods too!), the society is devoted to both the study and conservation of these wonderful animals in a friendly and accessible setting.
Anyone is welcome to get involved and become a member, whether you are an expert or just curious! Even if you're not directly interested in insects (yet), our talks and events will provide you with useful insight into many different fields, entomology is incredibly multidisciplinary, and is crucial in understanding the important ecological roles that arthropods play in ecosystems!
Speakers
We host many speakers covering a wide range of topics spanning all things insects and beyond, whether it be external experts, university staff members, or even students. Perhaps consider giving a talk if you want to share your entomological knowledge!
Documentary Screenings
There are many insect orientated documentaries out there that we will host at the Large Lecture Theatre!
Trips and Socials
We host many walks and trips, both local in Oxford and afar. We will also host regular social events where you can meet other people with an interest in insects and have an informal chat!
